Villa Royale History

Built in 1947, Villa Royale emerged in Palm Springs during post-World War II development in the Coachella Valley. Adding a small pool of guestrooms to the south end of Palm Springs alongside the Deep Well Guest Ranch and Smoke Tree Ranch, Villa Royale was an early small hotel in south Palm Springs. Owned and managed by Evelyn Pell, family lore has it that the California ranch-style hotel took its name from the first initials of Evelyn’s children – Valorie and Richard. You can stay at The Evelyn Pell Villa, a private residence with a hot tub and garden.

Weddings

Spanning three and a half acres, Villa Royale’s vibrant accommodations are surrounded by lush private grounds, multiple courtyards, three glistening pools, and 33,000 square feet of sprawling, grassy terrace, perfect for weddings, open-sky dinners, and entertainment functions.
