Fly PSP –  Palms Springs International Airport

Traveling to Palm Springs is easier than ever, thanks to its newly renovated Palm Springs International Airport (PSP), which is just minutes from downtown Palm Springs and the Palm Springs Convention Center. Numerous carriers from major cities serve PSP.

Palm Springs International Airport recently renovated and expanded the ticket lobby, doubling its original space. A new baggage system was installed to speed up and improve baggage services. The $36 million project reconfigured airline offices, allowing better passenger circulation, improved accessibility for passengers with disabilities, and added additional ticket counters to accommodate the growing list of airlines that fly to Palm Springs.

Palm Springs International Airport hosts thousands of commercial flights a year, which demands trained personnel to be prepared in the event of any kind of disruption or disturbance to travellers, making it an ideal destination for Operation Bono, a Transportation Security Administration training exercise, that took place July 12th and 13th, 2018. The purpose of Operation Bono is to provide unique training opportunities for federal, state, and local public safety bomb squads and military explosive ordnance disposal teams, as well as facilitates training and drills designed for bomb squads to employ their tactics while operating in the aviation domain in, and around PSP airport. Car Rentals, Shuttles & Limos

While taking to the road isn’t everyone’s first choice on a getaway, it’s an excellent way to go if you’re exploring beyond downtown Palm Springs’s borders. Palm Springs is relatively compact with a fantastic walkable downtown, so having a car during your stay is unnecessary, especially if you are close to downtown. However, renting a vehicle allows you to set your schedule and pace. It delivers accessibility to some out-of-the-way highlights, including hikes at Indian Canyons, going up the Palm Springs Aerial Tram, or taking a day trip to Joshua Tree.
