Desert Hills is one of Palm Spring’s classic boutique hotels. The spacious grounds include a central courtyard with a large pool deck, heated pool and Jacuzzi. Outdoor amenities also include gas BBQs, ice machine and filtered water machine. WiFi is available through the property and parking is free. This property caters to adults 21+. They do not allow pets.
In 1956, legendary designer Herbert Burns unveiled the Desert Hills Hotel as a mountainside hotel in the Historic Tennis Club. Lovingly cared for by original owners Alan and Joanne Petty into the 21st Century, Desert Hills retains the essence of classic Old Palm Springs with rooms and suites reminiscent of the 1950’s Mid-Century modern design and has been a destination for generations of families.
Originally constructed with 9 rooms, the hotel expanded to 14 rooms in the mid-seventies. Hotels of this era were originally called Apartment Hotels for their kitchenettes and generous living spaces that accommodated long-term stays.
The property’s 14 studios and one-and two bedroom suites open to individual patios overlooking a lush, flower-filled courtyard and inviting pool and spa. 11 rooms w/complete kitchens. They are all poolside.
the Vintage King rooms offer a unique vintage experience. While each room has been updated with new king beds and new linens throughout, the original 1956 tile and accents in the bathrooms remain in excellent condition.
In the early 70’s, five more rooms were added to the original nine rooms built in 1956. Not unlike the super-sized cars of the time, this new addition rolled out super-sized suites. The One Bedroom Suites offer separate sleeping and lounging rooms, adjoining (and private) rear patios and one includes a kitchenette.
The Vintage Kitchenette rooms offer a unique vintage experience as well as a nicely equipped kitchenette.
