The Shops at 1345 on North Palm Canyon was designed in 1955 by E. Stewart Williams for the Harold Hicks Real Estate and Insurance Company. The original interiors were by Arthur Elrod.
Hicks and his brother Milton went on to open the Desert Water Company. In 1960 they hired the award-winning architectural firm of Lundgren and Maurer to expand on E. Stewart Williams’ original plan.
The building stayed much the same until it was sold in 1978. With a few alterations it was used as real estate offices and eventually an art gallery.
In 2012 it became The Shops at Thirteen Forty Five.
