OUR BROADWAY: A MEMOIR IN SONG

ALIX KOREY

Alix Korey returned to her home in Rancho Mirage after co- starring in the 2016 acclaimed Broadway revival of FIDDLER ON THE ROOF. Her previous Broadway appearances include ALL SHOOK UP, CHICAGO, Neil Simon’s 45 SECONDS FROM BROADWAY, TRIUMPH OF LOVE, AIN’T BROADWAY GRAND, IS THERE LIFE AFTER HIGH SCHOOL and PIRATES OF PENZANCE. Off- Broadway, she originated roles in THE WILD PARTY (Drama Desk nomination), NO WAY TO TREAT A LADY (Outer Critics Circle nomination) and SUBURB (Dramaleague award) among many others. She has appeared in numerous films, including six Disney animated features, and on several prime time TV series, and has released two award-winning solo CDs. She is one of the founders of Broadway Cares/Equity Fights Aids and recently released a live album called ALIX KOREY BELTS THE S#*# OUT OF BWAY to raise funds for the organization. For 15 years, she taught at NYU in the Tisch School’s Cap21 program, and after relocating to California, continues to teach at Musical Theatre University, a high school arts program with PSUSD and CVREP Conservatory.

TERI RALSTON

Teri’s first show in New York was JACQUEL BREL IS ALIVE AND WELL… Within the same year she created the role of Jenny in the original production of COMPANY, which she also performed in London. This was followed immediately with the original production of A LITTLE NIGHT MUSIC where she created the role of Mrs. Nordstrom and recently played Madame Armfeldt. Teri’s association with Stephan Sondheim has continued over the years. She has performed in or directed 10 of his works, which includes playing Sally in 3 productions of FOLLIES. She stood by for Carol Burnett in PUTTING IT TOGETHER and has done many productions of SIDE-BY-SIDE-BY SONDHEIM, including one with Peggy Lee which she also directed. She has directed productions of FUNNY THING HAPPENED ON THE WAY TO THE FORUM, A LITTLE NIGHT MUSIC, FOLLIES, and INTO THE WOODS.

For Stephen Schwartz, Teri created the role of Denise in the Broadway bound BAKER’S WIFE, in which he wrote CHANSON for her. She had the pleasure of being the leading lady in Cy Coleman’s HOME AGAIN, HOME AGAIN which unfortunately closed on the road.

Some of her favorite roles were Mama Rose in Gypsy, Mame in MAME, Doatsy Mae in BEST LITTLE WHOREHOUSE Sally Bowles and later, Frauline Schneider in Cabaret, Carrie, and later, Cousin Nettie, in Carousel, Maria, and later Mother Abbess in SOUND OF MUSIC, and Meg in Damn Yankees.

In cabaret, Teri has performed around the world and was the soloist with Michael Feinstein and the Los Angeles Philharmonic at Hollywood Bowl and the New Mexico Symphony. She is featured on 7 original cast albums, 3 CDS recorded in London and a solo CD, I GOTTA GET BACK TO NEW YORK.

Television credits include ONE DAY AT A TIME, FRASIER, DHARMA AND GREG, MURDER SHE WROTE, WINGS, MARRIED WITH CHILDREN, THE BOLD AND THE BEAUTIFUL, to name a few.

Teri lives between the Berkshires in MA. and Palm Springs where she recently bought a home. She has performed in a number of venues here including CV Rep and the Purple Room. Her first association with CV REP was in the production of BALLROOM. She is also teaching at the Conservatory at CVREP as well as MTU.
