About

Bar Cecil (pronounced sessel) is a destination that seamlessly blends classic elegance with modern charm. This hidden gem not only offers refreshing libations and delectable bites but also pays homage to the legendary photographer and designer, Cecil Beaton. With its inviting atmosphere and artistic décor, Bar Cecil is a must-visit for those seeking an unforgettable experience.

Photographer Cecil Beaton

Named after the notable British artist, Cecil Beaton, this bar captures the essence of his timeless style. Beaton was renowned for his contributions to photography, fashion, and interior design. He left an indelible mark on the creative world, and Bar Cecil aims to honor his legacy by reflecting his distinctive aesthetic.

One of Beaton’s most notable connections was with the British royal family. His first encounter with them came in 1937 when he was commissioned to photograph the coronation of King George VI. This marked the beginning of a long-standing relationship with the royals, particularly the Queen Mother and her daughters, Princess Elizabeth (now Queen Elizabeth II) and Princess Margaret.

Bar Cecil Atmosphere

Stepping into Bar Cecil feels like stepping into another era. The interior design exudes a mix of glamour and refinement, reminiscent of Beaton’s iconic work. The space is adorned with vintage-inspired furniture, plush velvet seating, and elegant lighting fixtures. The attention to detail is evident in every corner, lending an air of sophistication to the ambiance.

Cocktails

The cocktail menu at Bar Cecil is an eclectic blend of classic favorites and innovative creations. Talented mixologists craft each drink with precision, ensuring a delightful taste and presentation. Sip on a perfectly crafted Cecil Old Fashioned or indulge in a signature cocktail like the “Lost Horizon,” a unique blend of spirits and flavors that pays tribute to Cecil Beaton’s artistic prowess (Lost Horizon was also filmed in Palm Springs).

Why Not? The Fifty Dollar Martini with pickled onion, deviled egg with caviar and sunchoke chips.
