Jazzville Presents Matt Forbes & Sinatra Sextet ’62

Cascade Lounge

When

February 15, 2024
7:00 pm - 8:30 pm

Matt Forbes sold out his last show at Jazzville and it wasn’t even “season” in Palm Springs. This time ’round he’ll be here in the height of season, plus he’s recreating the famous Sinatra Sextet sound for a unique and timely salute to Modernism Week…

The Sinatra Sextet consisted of piano, bass, drums, vibraphone, guitar and sax. The album, recorded in Paris in 1962, provided an intimate vehicle for Mr. S. and an exciting departure from the big band sound that dominated his career. Matt Forbes and his deadly sextet will re-capture this special Sinatra performance at Jazzville. Grab your seats early!

Look at this phenomenal dream team for the Sextet:

Carey Frank keys
Cooper Appelt bass
Kevin van den Elzen drums
Will Brahm guitar
Jason Fabus woodwinds
Jake Chapman vibraphone
Matt Forbes is one of the most important new voices to hit the genre in more than a decade. As a lone baritone in a sea of pop tenors, the Canadian crooner is drawing widespread acclaim for his dynamic, soulful reinterpretations of songs, old and new. When swinging the Great American Songbook, Matt has the unique ability to make us feel as though we’re hearing these songs for the very first time.
