Valentine’s Day is just around the corner, and what better way to celebrate love than in the charming oasis of Palm Springs? With its sun-kissed landscapes, breathtaking mountains, and luxurious resorts, this desert destination sets the perfect backdrop for a romantic getaway. Stroll hand in hand through vibrant downtown streets and enjoy a Palm Springs Valentine’s Day dinner at an award-winning restaurant. This is a romantic retreat like no other. Workshop Kitchen + Bar

Workshop Kitchen in the Uptown Design District is serving a 4-course Valentine’s dinner beginning at 5 pm. Begin with your choice of grilled halloumi cheese or koji-cured celery root. A shaved fennel salad follows this. The main entrée selections include Kombu butter poached arctic char, flat iron steak, or sourdough pappardelle pasta mushroom stroganoff. Finish with house-made ice cream or sorbet.

Enjoy a 4-course menu that begins with their Blini, house-made smoked steelhead with osetra caviar, beet mousse, and fresh dill. Their second course is called an Ice Breaker and offers a selection of soups and salads. Their specialty is the Baja striped bass crudo with blood orange, shaved fennel, radish, and Aleppo pepper. The Affire main entree selections include short rib, lobster pasta, Baja striped bass, and a roasted cauliflower steak. Their special entrée is the Chateaubriand, which they will share for two. For the Finale, enjoy a selection of sweets. As a gift to you, a toast of champagne with dessert.

Grand Central Palm Springs

Grand Central has a grand 5-course menu planned for Valentine’s Day. You are welcomed with a glass of Italian Prosecco followed by a prosciutto-wrapped scallop. Continue with heart-shaped seafood ravioli with a pesto sauce and shaved parmesan. Carry on with a roasted beet salad. To follow is your choice of lobster & beef tenderloin or Chilean sea bass & pacific tiger shrimp. Finish with chocolate mousse and strawberries dipped in chocolate.  Menu & Reservations

Zin American Bistro

Join Zin for a 3-course romantic dinner. Begin with your choice of wild mushroom soup, beet & goat cheese salad, or Zin bites. Main courses include Scottish salmon, gluten free ravioli pasta, coq-au-vin, rack of lamb, or prosciutto wrapped scallops. Finish with Mindy’s chevre cheesecake, raspberry crème brulee, or Belgian chocolate cappuccino mousse.

Guests will enjoy their specially curated 3-course menu featuring options like filet mignon with Alaskan king crab meat, Moroccan-style braised short ribs, Paella Valencia, Faroe Island salmon, and Tomahawk pork chops.  Includes a champagne toast.

LuLu California Bistro

With tradition, LuLu offers a Valentine’s Day 4-course menu. Start with soup, including Maine lobster bisque. Follow with a fresh salad including roasted beets, citrus green salad, avocado, and crab meat tower. There is an extensive entrée list, including chicken, seafood, rack of lamb, and lobster ravioli. The vegetarian option is a polenta cake with roasted vegetables. Finish with a selection of sweets, chocolate-covered strawberries, and a glass of champagne.

Melvyn’s at Ingleside Estate is always an excellent choice for a very elegant Valentine’s dinner. The menu is different from the traditional pre-fixe so that you will order the selections of your choice. Entrees include grilled trumpet mushroom, Jidori chicken, scallop risotto, and steak frites. There is also a 40 oz. Waygu Tomahawak for two.

Chi Chi at The Avalon

Executive chef Erik Dandee has created a special 3-course Valentine’s menu at Chi Chi. Begin with a beef and beet carpaccio, hamachi crudo (a delicate Japanese dish similar to sashimi), or asparagus soup. Entrée selections include salmon, zucchini scallops, or New York steak. Finish with a chocolate mousse cake or peanut butter cake served with vanilla gelato and caramel. Ask about their suggested wine pairings.

Palm Springs Aerial Tramway

Peak’s Restaurant at the top of the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway—will offer a special 3-course prix fixe menu on Valentine’s Day. The menu includes choice of appetizer (spinach salad, charred shrimp or wild mushroom puree), entrée (crab-stuffed Orange Roughy, roasted duck, filet mignon or vegetable coconut curry) and dessert (warm apple tart or chocolate volcano cake).

Served 5 – 8 pm. $89 per person (tram-fare not included). In addition, the Peaks regular dinner menu will also be served. Reservations are recommended and may be made by calling 760-325-4537 or via Open Table at www.opentable.com/peaks-restaurant .

Ride ‘n’ Dine tickets are $41.00 for adults and seniors, and $27.50 for children ages 3-10. This combination ticket includes Tram admission and dinner at Pines Café.

This Belgian-style restaurant is offering a 3-course Valentine’s menu. Begin with a classic Caesar salad, escargot, red beet salad with goat chees, or mussel chowder. Continue with your choice of short ribs, rack of lamb, half duck a la orange, classic French cassoulet, or surf & turf. For dessert, enjoy a chocolate mousse martini, crème brulee, mini rum-soaked Savarin cake filled with Chantilly crème and fruit, or a duo of cream puffs with vanilla ice cream.

In the Uptown Design District, Trio offers a 4-course Valentine’s dinner. Enjoy a smoked salmon crostini with creme fraiche and paddlefish caviar to set the tone. The first course includes ahi tuna crudo, butter lettuce salad, or Kamiai oysters. For the second course, choose from sausage ragu pasta, crab croquettes, or black truffle risotto. Moving to the main entree, selections include duck confit, scallops, Chilean seabass, or center-cut filet. Finish with chocolate sticky toffee pudding or sweet potato cheesecake.

Located in the luxurious L’Horizon Hotel, the Valentine’s 5-course menu includes an optional cellar wine pairing. To amuse, begin with a yellowfin tuna tartar Éclair. Followed by the first course of a Chioggia beet salad. Progress to the cage-free Sonoma chicken Farci with sausage stuffing and butternut squash. The third course includes a grilled NY steak and braised cheek served with Thumbelina carrots and chive crushed potatoes. Finish with a selection of cookies, chocolates, and treats.

Agua Caliente Casino Palm Springs – Cascade Lounge

As part of Desert Blues Revival, get ready for the Mardi Gras Valentine Party with the Gand Band and Madame LeRoux & Krewe.

Michele Lundeen tore it last year at the Cascade Lounge with the Gand Band. Now she’s back to transport us to New Orleans to celebrate Mardi Gras as Madame LeRoux! And for those who want to bring their valentine, there will be plenty of love! Masks, beads, feathers, and boas are welcome if you desire.

With her powerhouse vocals, Michele is ready to raise roofs and tear down walls. Walter Gentry, who tore it up last year with his stunning sax licks and fun antics, will return to do it again this year!

Movie Screening

The Palm Springs Cultural Center presents a special Valentine’s Day screening of “From Here To Eternity.”

Come early and enjoy chocolate covered Strawberries from the Certified Farmers Market. Then, enjoy music by Bill Marx and Bill Edwards. Plus, Steve Geiger will present Mensch Awards posthumously to the stars of the film.  Tickets
