Mural at Ace Hotel & Swim Club

Laura's mural evokes a singular California feeling — its rich desert hues, legacy of sun worship and unified spirit of collaboration, all elements we try to foster at Ace, too. We're really lucky to have her work here for our 10th Desert Gold celebration. -Kelly Sawdon, Chief Brand Officer, Atelier Ace

I'm very inspired by the desert and I draw from it a lot for my work, so this was such a dreamy project. It was restorative to paint in the quiet early mornings, look at the bright blue sky with mountains and palm trees around me, and to meet the amazing team at Ace. The mural, titled "Lifting the Sun," represents our collective interests as a community of humans — supporting each other, and holding up what's good on an individual, societal and environmental level. -Laura Berger, Muralist

Ace Hotel & Swim Club

Ace Hotel & Swim Club is a mid-century modern desert marvel. Ace Palm Springs is a hotel, spa and resort within biking distance of downtown and close to Joshua Tree, the Salton Sea, Salvation Mountain, all kinds of historic desert modern architecture and tons of great vintage shopping. It's also the best place in Palm Springs to get a laid-back massage or natural treatment at the Feel Good Spa. Two big pools, a vintage photo booth, inspired tacos and more at King's Highway, nightly events at the Amigo Room and a gym round out the basics. Bring your kids, bring your dog — they are family and pet-friendly.
