Hidden Allure” a Ceramic, Bronze Finish, and Mixed Media Sculpture will be featured at Maxson Art Studio through winter 2017.  The sculpture was inspired by observing manhole covers and grates throughout different cities that gallery owner Linda Maxson visited; the combination of design and the patina of everyday life were so intriguing.  Linda wanted to somehow capture the beauty that I felt was overlooked by so many people as they passed over them every day.  Palm Springs provided "grate" inspiration and gave me a chance to pay tribute to the city and the people that gave me the encouragement, support and opportunity to open a gallery and share my work.  The sculpture is made of fired paper clay, metal mesh, fiberglass and other mixed media.

Thanks to Palm Springs Artist, Peggy Vermeer; through her creations with found objects, Peggy's art inspired me to look beyond the obvious use of materials and have no boundaries.  “Hidden Allure” will be on display throughout the 2016-2017 winter season in Maxson Art, 2608 S. Cherokee Way, Palm Springs

Additional Event in the evening:

What:  Join the Backstreet Art District on Wednesday, February 1st from 6 – 9 PM for their monthly Art Walk and kick off the month of February.  The first Wednesday of each month experience Art Walk where galleries are open for guests to meet the artists, visit working studios and enjoy original fine and decorative art all in one location.

Information:  Take part in Art at Maxson Art Gallery by joining others in creating a group sculpture made of paper clay.  The sculpture will be glazed, fired and displayed in the gallery at the March Art Walk. No artistic experience is needed to participate.  Don't want to be part of the creating?  Enjoy a glass of wine and watch the magic happen.

REBEL art space - February will see the gallery transformed into the imaginative soft sculpture world of Joshua Tree artist Coco Hall. Coco’s creative take on our world and its sometimes distorted vision is both refreshing and at times, disturbing. A drone wrapped in a pink mohair sweater, a mermaid caught up in a fisherman’s net with no way of escape, a dreaming cellphone . . .Coco brings humor to darkness and illustrates the absurdity of much of modern society.

Live entertainment will be provided by DJ Baz spinning crooner classics and more.
