FREE Concert featuring Sir Elton John, Tribute Artist Jeffrey Allen from Las Vegas.
Marilyn Monroe will be remembered in Palm Springs on Sunday, August, 5, with a tribute concert marking the 50th anniversary of her passing. Las Vegas entertainer Jeffrey Allen, best known for his performances as Sir Elton John in the review “Legends in Concert” will headline the free, one hour show at the Forever Marilyn sculpture at the corner of Palm Canyon Drive and Tahquitz Canyon Way beginning at 6:30 PM.
“We want to honor the legacy of this icon with an event that will be meaningful and appropriate,” said Aftab Dada, chairman of P.S. Resorts. “Elton John’s song, “Candle in the Wind”, which was written in honor of Marilyn Monroe, is recognized by generations of her fans. We believe it’s a genuine and fitting tribute to mark this date.”
Performer Jeffrey Allen's professional career began in 1988 as a solo act, playing keyboards and singing. That experience led to him opening for ex-"Loving Spoonful" member John Sebastian at the famed “Musician’s Exchange" and he went on to record with Dionne Warwick and The Birds for the AIDS benefit album "Legacy."
He has performed all over the world and throughout the US, including the 1996 Olympics in Atlanta. Inevitably, his talent and experience brought him to Las Vegas where he performed as "Sir Elton John" with the longest running impersonator show "Legends in Concert".
Seating for this concert is first-come, first-served, and guests are encouraged to bring blankets or low lawn chairs. Free parking is available on site; please enter from Tahquitz Canyon Way at Belardo Road (east of Palm Canyon Drive).
