National Tequila Day is just around the corner, and there’s no doubt Palm Springs knows how to celebrate this holiday in grand fashion. When it comes to raising a glass in honor of National Tequila Day on July 24, head to these five Palm Springs restaurants for unbeatable tequila selections and tequila cocktails.

El Jefe
Iron Chef Jose Garces’ modern Mexican cantina is also home to one of Palm Springs’ top tequila bars. More than 100 varieties of tequila and mezcal sit behind the rustic bar, waiting to be enjoyed by the glass or in a flight. Traditional margaritas are also on the menu, or you can sweeten things up with a selection from the fresh fruit margarita list (options include charred pineapple, blood orange and watermelon). Looking to stray away from shots and margaritas? Order the Hemingway, which features jalapeno-infused tequila, maraschino liqueur and grapefruit.

Las Casuelas Terraza
Las Casuelas Terraza certainly loves its tequila. Why else would they hold special tequila pairing dinners and tequila festivals throughout the year? On National Tequila Day, you can treat yourself to your choice of the bar’s 75 anejo, reposado or plata tequilas. With a selection so grand, you’re sure to find a tequila to knock you off your feet. More of a cocktail type of person? Don’t miss the margaritas here, as Las Casuelas Terraza is often voted to be the home of the best margarita in Palm Springs.

Hacienda Cantina & Beach Club
Tequila tasting is taken to a whole new level at the recently opened Hacienda Cantina & Beach Club in South Palm Springs. Dozens upon dozens of tequilas grace the bar’s menu, and the well tequila is none other than Casa Nobles (available as-is or infused with several peppers for a spicy kick to your cocktail). More than a dozen craft cocktails will make you question why you’d ever pound tequila in shot form, but if the shot glasses are calling your name, you can create your own flight of four one-ounce tequila shots to try a variety of this Mexican liquor.

Rio Azul Mexican Bar & Grill

You wouldn’t dare think to celebrate National Tequila Day without a margarita in hand, would you? We didn’t think so. In Palm Springs, you can get your margarita on without running up an over-the-top bar tab at Rio Azul, home of the famed $5 house margarita. The deals don’t end there, either: on Thursdays (and yes, National Tequila Day falls on a Thursday), Rio Azul also offers two-for-one specials on their Rio margaritas.

El Mirasol
Since opening 1985, Felipe and Lisbet Castañeda have seen their tiny original restaurant grow into two busy Palm Springs locations which includes its new north location located in Los Arboles Hotel. El Mirasol restaurants are locally owned featuring amazing outdoor patios, delicious margaritas and authentic recipes. The Castañedas’ are natives of the small ranching town of Tepechitlan,  Zacatecas, an area with a proud culinary history that borders Jalisco’s famous Tequila region.
