City of Palm Springs Office of Sustainability is hosting the 2nd Annual Mayor’s Race and Wellness Festival on April 20 starting at 7:30 a.m. and this year’s theme is “A Healthy Planet, Healthy You Event.” This race is scheduled over Earth Day weekend as part of Mayor Pougnet's commitment to health and reducing childhood obesity.

The Mayor’s Race and Wellness Festival is one of the most scenic runs featuring a 1k, 5k and a 7 mile loop in downtown, uptown, and historic neighborhoods. The annual race is open to all ages and includes breakfast, a t-shirt, commemorate photo and medal to all finishers.  Registration is required to participate in the race.

In addition to race day, a free Wellness Festival is scheduled at the Palm Springs Wellness Park, located adjacent to the Desert Regional Medical Center. Over a dozen vendors, live music featuring the Palm Springs High School Jazz Band, a Blue Grass Band, food samples and healthy living classes featuring yoga, jazzercise, zumba, and cross fit classes. The Wellness Park is a 5-acre wellness oasis that has a walking/jogging loop, exercise/fitness stations and four gardens.  

The Mayor’s Race and Wellness Festival on April 20 starts at 7:30 a.m. with registration opening at 6:00 a.m. Registration is required by purchasing tickets online at  www.yoursustainablecity.com or by calling 760-323-8214.

1k Race (10 and under) is Free
5k Race: $30.00
7 mile Race: $35.00
