As a general rule of thumb, electronics and water don’t mix. So, for a valid reason to leave your smartphone and other devices behind for the day, enter Wet ‘n’ Wild Palm Springs! The desert city’s newest attraction and singular water park is open for the 2014 Season from March 15th through mid-October. Newcomers and fans alike of the former Knott’s Soak City Palm Springs 21-acre water park will find this year’s rides, special events, and revamped amenities very refreshing.
Newest Ride In 8 Years
Joining the family of nine waterslide rides, family rides, and raft rides this season is The Flow Rider, scheduled to open in late April. The Flow Rider is a state-of-the-art wave simulator that’s been dubbed “the ultimate surf machine.” For newbies catching the first wave of their life or seasoned surfers ripping the waves to shreds, this new ride promises an adrenaline rush.
Movies on the Water
Pull up an inner tube and catch a family-friendly flick poolside during Wet ‘N’ Wild’s free Dive-In Movie Series. Running Friday nights from July 11th through August 1st, a feature film will start after dusk to wind down the day. Check the park’s website for scheduled movie line-up.
Deep discounts come with the Season Pass, which pays for itself in just two visits. Exclusive passholder perks include unlimited visits all season long, special parking rates, in-park purchase discounts, priority entrance into the park, and “bring a friend” offers.
No need to wait until the summer to enjoy Wet ‘n’ Wild Palm Springs, either. Palm Springs has been experiencing sunny days and amazing weather in the 80s already. Pack the swimsuits, sunscreen, towels, and flip flops, and get ready to hit the desert “beach.” But leave the phone and tablet high and dry in your room. You wouldn’t want them to get damaged, now would you?
